BREAD Saturdays in July 7th, 14th

Breads are the staple served with virtually every meal from Focaccia style olive bread to closed ‘calzone’ style with haloumi cheese. There’s also herbed ‘Mountain’ bread and Turkish pide. Kemal will show us how to get the best from our home ovens, even if it’s not the wood fired dream oven that he works with every day.

PIZZA Saturdays in July 21st 28th

Firstly Kem starts by showing us how to make our own dough, then we learn about the toppings, spices and pizza making techniques that give our ‘pizzas’ a Turkish edge.

VEGETARIAN Saturdays in August 4th, 11th

There are so many varied dishes in the Turkish menu that are perfect for vegetarians or just for those who prefer vegetables as the main part of their dishes. Kemal shows us how the Turks do it when it comes to dishes where the vegetables are the star.

DESSERTS Saturdays in August 18th, 25th

From the syrupy baklavas to the mouth watering Turkish delights and creamy brulees, Turkish desserts have a life of their own and are simply irresistible. Most are also surprisingly simple to make.

LAMB Saturdays in September 1st, 8th, 15th

Lamb is so versatile and in these classes Kem covers not only the slow, slow cooked lambs for which Lezzet is renowned, but also it’s use in the tiny dishes that make up the entrée-mezes, and other main courses where the techniques and flavours vary greatly

MEZE Saturdays in September 22nd, 29th

Meze is where most great Sofra ‘shared table’ meals begin. A series of tiny tastes of varying textures and flavours, the most colourful array in the Turkish food world.
